Boey's coffee cup drawing

Boey is a talented drawer from Malaysia. He uploaded a beautiful set of photos showing all drawings he made on foam coffee cup. Sometimes when I get very bored during a meeting, I draw on my coffee cup but I am far far away from the art of Boey. I assume that he might have been really bored to reach this state of art!

Contempory Art Fair in Singapore

The contempory art fair in Singapore is not going to take place next week end. You'll have to wait until 9-12 October. But I found the paintings featured on the website very interesting. I'm not expert in art, especially trade art. For more advice you should visit Thang dynasty.

Music: Random Recipe

Music is not really well represented on this blog. We preferred more visual stuffs but we are not unsensitive to music and we just discovered Random Recipe. And when we have seen their inspirations on their my space we understood why we liked their music. Names which came first were Gotan Project, Portishead, CocoRosie... They have also lots of references we are fan of!

Photo: Technomades exhibition by Christophe Beauregard

Christophe Beauregard is a french photographer. I like his set of photos called Technomade, exhibited at Alcatel-Lucent Fundation. Christophe made portrait of people who are taken without their favorite electronic devices. I like the interpretation how cell phone or laptops are just an extension of our body or our brain.

Street art book made by a french two headed unit, Kanardo

I just discovered Kanardo, which is a small agency based in south of France at Guethary. This area is very well known for its surfing culture. By the way, these two guys are very inspired by the street and surf culture. I like their work which is very diversified, they are both photographers and illustrators but you'll find on their blog, myspace or official website all their inspirations from music to graffitis.

You should also look at their book on street artists:

SG doesn't stand only for Singapore

You may have already heard about SuicideGirls or SG. I digged about this community of women ( and also men) a little bit deeper and I found a very interesting project but also a profitable company. According to wikipedia: "SuicideGirls is a website that features softcore pin-up-style photos and text profiles of goth, punk and indie-styled young women (although styles reminiscent of the 1940s and '50s pin-up models are also incorporated) who themselves are known as the Suicide Girls". I understood that the aim of this community was to represent the image of woman in alternative ways that people are used to. And I found this photoset called fight club made by Missy, which is a kind of tribute to the legendary movie. You'll be able to see better what they mean by saying SuicideGirls is a community that celebrates alternative beauty and alternative culture from all over the world.

Extract of 60 other tatooed, sweaty and beautiful women pictures:

The fight club photoset featured some nude photos. So if you are under 18, don't click on links of this article.

Picasso plays with flashlight

We, at French Blast, presented a cool video with flash light and snowboarders a while ago. But someone had the same ideo 60 years ago. Look at the following drawings made with light by Picasso. LIFE photographer Gjon Mili visited Picasso in 1949. Mili showed the artist some of his photographs of ice skaters with tiny lights affixed to their skates jumping in the dark -- and Picasso's mind began to race. The series of photographs that follows -- Picasso’s light drawings -- were made with a small flashlight in a dark room; the images vanished almost as soon as they were created.
